Rain and thunderstorms continue in the east and north on Tuesday and a warning for Limpopo

Fine in places, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers in the east on Tuesday but light rain and showers in south.

From Wednesday it should be partly cloudy and warm to cool conditions are expected, with isolated showers and thundershowers possible for the eastern and southern regions of the country.

Hot and uncomfortable conditions are expected over the western parts of Northern Cape and Western Cape on Tuesday.

Extremely hot conditions are expected over the extreme western parts of Northern Cape and north-western parts of Western Cape on Tuesday.

Strong north-westerly winds can be expected in places over the central parts of Northern Cape, eastern parts of Western Cape and the western interior of the Eastern Cape on Wednesday.

Warnings from the SA Weather Service for Tuesday:

A. level 2 warning for disruptive rainfall leading to localized flooding of susceptible formal/informal settlements or roads, low-lying areas and bridges, minor motor vehicle accidents due to slippery roads and/reduced visibility is expected over the northern parts of Limpopo.

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the western parts of the Northern Cape and Western Cape.

GAUTENG
Morning fog in the south, otherwise cloudy and cool, but partly cloudy in the south-west.

MPUMALANGA
Morning fog along the escarpment, otherwise cloudy and cool to cold with isolated showers and thundershowers.

LIMPOPO
Morning fog along the escarpment, otherwise cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers, but scattered in extreme north.

NORTH-WEST
Morning fog patches are expected in places in the east, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers over the eastern parts.

THE FREE STATE
Morning fog patches in the east where it will be cloudy, otherwise and cool to warm, with isolated showers and thundershowers over the eastern parts.

THE NORTHERN CAPE
Morning fog patches over the southern parts, otherwise fine, windy and warm. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh northerly to north-westerly.

THE WESTERN CAPE
Fine and warm to hot but very hot to extremely hot in the West Coast District. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate easterly to north-easterly but fresh in places along the south and north-west coast.

THE WESTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Cloudy with fog in places over the interior in the morning, otherwise fine and cool to warm. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly, becoming fresh to strong easterly from mid-day.

THE EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Morning fog in places over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy cool to cold with light rain along the Wild Coast. It will be cloudy in the east. The wind along the coast will be light northerly at first, otherwise fresh to strong north-easterly.

KWAZULU-NATAL
Cloudy and cool to cold with isolated showers and rain, but scattered along the coast. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly becoming north-easterly from the south by mid-day.
