SATURDAY WEATHER: No warnings but from Sunday more cold, wet and windy weather arrives

Morning or evening fog can be expected in many parts of the country on Saturday.

Cold to very cold, wet and windy conditions are expected over the southern parts of Namakwa district municipality in the Northern Cape, the Central Karoo district, Cape Winelands, the western parts of the Overberg district municipalities, as well as the City of Cape Town Metropole municipality in the Western Cape from Sunday into Monday.
Windy conditions can be expected in places over the interior of the Eastern Cape on Sunday, and along the coast on Monday into Tuesday with cold to very cold conditions in places.
Very rough to high seas can be expected along the coast of the Eastern Cape on Monday into Tuesday.
Warnings from the SA Weather Service for Saturday:
A. level 1 warning for severe thunderstorms with heavy downpours, leading to localised flooding and damages to susceptible formal/informal settlements and infrastructure over the central and south-eastern parts of the Northern Cape.
Extremely high fire danger conditions can be expected over Kai !Garib local municipality of the Northern Cape, as well as the Central Karoo district and the Little Karoo local municipalities in the Western Cape.
Warnings from the SA Weather Service from Sunday:
A. level 2 warning for damaging interior winds leading to problems for high-sided vehicles, transport routes and travel services being affected by wind and longer travel times, as well as damage to structures and settlements over the Karoo Hoogland local municipality in the Northern Cape, as well as in places over the Central Karoo district and the Breede Valley local municipality in the Western Cape on Sunday.
B. level 1 warning for damaging waves leading to difficulty in navigation at sea for small vessels/ personal watercraft and localised disruption to beachfront activities between Cape Columbine and Plettenberg Bay on Monday.

Fog along the coast in the morning as well as in places in the east where it will be cloudy and windy, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated iso showers and thundershowers over the west central parts, but scattered in the east. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate westerly to north-westerly.
THE WESTERN CAPE
Morning fog along the west coast, otherwise fine to partly cloudy and cool to warm but hot in places over the south-eastern parts. Isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers are expected over the eastern parts from the afternoon. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate westerly to north-westerly, becoming fresh to strong along the south-west coast in the afternoon.

Partly cloudy and warm with isolated afternoon thunderstorms over the interior. The wind along the coast will be light northerly.
THE EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Partly cloudy and warm with isolated afternoon thundershowers in the north and west. The wind along the coast will be light north-westerly.
KWAZULU-NATAL
Morning and evening fog patches over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy to cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers in the north-west. It will become fine in places in the east in the afternoon. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh westerly to north-westerly north of Richards Bay in the morning, otherwise light to moderate northerly to north-easterly, reaching fresh in places.
