More snowfall still possible for the Western Cape on SundayBy Staff WriterPublished: 22 April 2026 [updated 26 April] This forecast covers: Fri 24 Apr – Sun 26 Apr
Snowfall is indicated for the Western Cape mountains including around Paarl, Franschhoek, Tulbagh, Worcester, De Doorns, Ceres and the Koue Bokkeveld on Sunday night. Snow is also now indicated across the Swartberg range from Ladismith to De Rust, as well as on the peaks near Willowmore and Uniondale. No low-level snow that would be reachable via a vehicle is expected but it might be visible lower down the mountains in many areas on Monday, unless it melts fast. Snow fell at Matroosberg Reserve and on the Hex River mountains in the Western Cape last weekend. No snow fell in Lesotho on Friday as indicated in the previous forecast update. As with any forecast of any kind (temperature, clouds, rain, wind), what eventually happens may or may not be similar to the forecast. Snow indicated may reduce or vanish completely in some areas, or the dates and times may change. Follow our channels
