Hot and humid weather will result in extremely uncomfortable conditions along the north and central coastal areas and adjacent interior of KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday.

From Wednesday it should be partly cloudy and warm to hot, but cool in places over the south-eastern regions of the country, with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers possible over the central and eastern parts.

ALSO READ: More snowfall possible for Lesotho and the Drakensberg from Sunday onwards (19-21 October), as well as on Thursday.

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the central interior of the country, northern parts of the Limpopo as well as in places over KwaZulu-Natal.

GAUTENG
Fine and warm becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon.
The expected UVB sunburn index: High

MPUMALANGA
Partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated showers and thundershowers over the eastern Highveld and along the escarpment. It will be very hot in places in the Lowveld, where it will be fine.

LIMPOPO
Fine and warm to hot, but very hot in the Limpopo Valley and the Lowveld becoming partly cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers in the south-central parts.

NORTH-WEST
Fine and warm to hot.

THE FREE STATE
Fine and warm to hot but partly cloudy in the extreme east with isolated showers and thundershowers.

THE NORTHERN CAPE
Partly cloudy in the extreme west in the morning, otherwise fine and warm to hot. The wind along the coast will be light and variable, becoming moderate to fresh south to south-easterly from the afternoon.

THE WESTERN CAPE
Partly cloudy and cool to warm but cloudy at times with chances of rain over the western and southern parts in the morning. The wind along the coast will be to moderate westerly to north-westerly along the west coast at first, otherwise fresh to strong southerly to south-westerly.

THE WESTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Fine in the extreme north, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm, but cloudy in the south with isolated showers. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong south-westerly.

THE EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Cloudy south of the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated showers and thundershowers, except in the extreme north. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong south-westerly.

KWAZULU-NATAL
Morning fog over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy and hot to very hot, but warm along the south coast. Isolated showers and thundershowers are expected, except in the extreme north-east. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong north-easterly becoming fresh to strong south-westerly south of Durban by the afternoon, spreading to St Lucia by evening.
