TUESDAY WEATHER: Six warnings issued including disruptive snow, rain and damaging wind & waves

Warnings from the SA Weather Service:
A. level 6 warning for disruptive snow leading to disruptions to livelihood, major traffic disruptions and some communities temporary inaccessible over Emalahleni, Sakhisizwe, Senqu, Elundini and Matatiele local municipalities of the Eastern Cape.
B. level 2 warning for disruptive snow leading to localised traffic disruptions, isolated loss of livestock and crops and localised disruptions to services in places over over Dr Beyers Naude, Raymond Mhlaba, Amahlathi, Intsika Yethu, Dr AB Xuma, Mhlontlo and Mzimvubu Local Municipalities, and Chris Hani Distyrict Municipality of the Eastern Cape, east and south of the Free State along the Lesotho border and the western parts of KwaZulu-Natal.
C. level 2 warning for disruptive rain leading to localised flooding of susceptible settlements, roads and bridges over Mpumalanga except the extreme western parts.
D. level 2 warning for damaging wind and waves resulting in disruption of small harbours or ports, danger in navigation, disruption of coastal activities, damage to infrastructure and settlements and injuries and danger to life from flying debris along the coast of KwaZulu-Natal.
E. level 2 warning for damaging winds resulting in damage to settlements (formal and informal), localized reduced visibility due to dust storms and localised damage to temporary structures over northern parts of the West Coast District, and the Witzenberg Municipality of the Western Cape and over the Namakwa District except the north-eastern parts of Pofadder Municipality of the Northern Cape as well as the western parts of Mpumalanga.
F. level 1 warning for damaging winds leading to difficulty in navigation at sea between Table Bay and Cape Agulhas from Tuesday morning until Wednesday afternoon.
Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the Richtersveld Municipality.

Cloudy and cold to very cold with scattered showers and rain.
MPUMALANGA
Morning frost in places, otherwise cloudy and cold to very cold with scattered to widespread rain and showers.
LIMPOPO
Cloudy and cool to cold with isolated to scattered rain and showers and rain but widespread in the south-east.
NORTH-WEST
Partly cloudy, windy and cool to cold, with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers, except over the west.
THE FREE STATE
Cloudy, windy and cold to very cold, with isolated showers and thundershowers, but scattered over the far east.
THE NORTHERN CAPE
Partly cloudy, windy and cool to cold but fine in the north-west. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong easterly to south-easterly.
THE WESTERN CAPE
Cloudy to partly cloudy and cool to warm but cold over the north-eastern parts, with isolated rain and showers along the south coast in the morning. Light snow dust is possible for Beaufort West in the morning. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong easterly to south-easterly, reaching gale along the south-west coast from the afternoon, becoming strong north-easterly along the south coast from the evening.
THE WESTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Cloudy and cold to very cold with isolated showers and rain along the coast and adjacent interior, but scattered east of Port Elizabeth. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-easterly, becoming easterly in the afternoon.
THE EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Cloudy and very cold with scattered showers and rain, but widespread along the coast. Snowfall is expected over high-lying areas. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-easterly.
KWAZULU-NATAL
Cloudy and cold to very cold with scattered showers and rain, and snow over the western high-ground. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly but strong in the north.
