Snow falls in Lesotho on Tuesday and Wednesday and more possible

Snow fell in Lesotho and on the Drakensberg this week as per our latest forecast, which is available here.

Snow Report Southern Africa received photos and video from Afriski Mountain Resort between Tuesday and Thursday morning and these can be found below.

We also received photos from Letšeng Diamond Mine in Lesotho on Wednesday morning and evening, as well as the peaks at the top of Sani Pass.

More snow may fall in Lesotho on Thursday too.

This would now be the third snowfall of 2025, with snow falling on the Swartberg mountains near Oudtshoorn in the Western Cape in late March and in Lesotho in the week leading up to Easter.

In 2024 we put out our first snow forecast of the season on the 6th of April and we have seen snowfalls every April for the last few years.

NO low-level snow is expected on normal public roads in South Africa this week.
