Some rain and weather warnings to start the week

Morning fog patches over the coastal areas and adjacent interior on Thursday, otherwise sunny conditions can be expected.

Extreme high fire danger conditions expected over the northern and the south-eastern parts of the Northern Cape and in places over Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality in the Eastern Cape on Thursday.

Regional forecasts from SAWS for Thursday:

1. GAUTENG
Fine and cool to warm. The expected UVB sunburn index: High

2. MPUMALANGA
Fine and warm.

3. LIMPOPO
Fine and warm.

4. NORTH-WEST PROVINCE
Fine and warm.

5. FREE STATE
Fine and warm, becoming partly cloudy in the west.

6. NORTHERN CAPE
Fine to partly cloudy and cool to warm. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-easterly, becoming strong from the afternoon.

7. WESTERN CAPE
Cloudy to partly cloudy over the eastern parts and morning fog over the southern parts, otherwise fine and cool to warm. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-westerly to westerly along the south-west and south coasts, otherwise moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly. The expected UVB sunburn index: Moderate

8. WESTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Cloudy in the south with fog patches in the morning, otherwise partly cloudy and warm. The wind along the coast will be light north-westerly at times during the morning, otherwise light to moderate south-westerly.

9. EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Partly cloudy and warm to hot. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-easterly.

10. KWAZULU-NATAL
Partly cloudy with morning fog, becoming fine and warm from late morning. The wind along the coast will be light westerly to north-westerly at first, otherwise moderate to fresh northerly to north-easterly. The expected UVB sunburn index: High.
