Very cold conditions are expected in places over the interior of the Eastern Cape and the south western parts of KwaZulu-Natal on Thursday and overnight. Snow fell in KwaZulu-Natal and the Drakensberg on Thursday afternoon – photos and video posted on our social media. Upcoming warnings from the SA Weather Service (SAWS): High fire conditions are expected over western parts of the North West Province and the David Kruipe and kai !Garib district in the Northern Cape. Regional forecasts from SAWS for Friday: GAUTENG Partly cloudy and cool. The expected UVB sunburn index: Extreme MPUMALANGA Cloudy and cold to cool with light rain in the east. LIMPOPO Cloudy and warm with drizzle and light rain in the east. THE NORTH-WEST PROVINCE Partly cloudy, windy, and cool. THE FREE STATE Morning fog patches in the east, otherwise partly cloudy, windy and cold to cool with isolated showers over the extreme east. THE NORTHERN CAPE Fine and cool to warm. The wind along the coast will be fresh south-easterly. THE WESTERN CAPE Frost with mist over the interior, otherwise fine and cool, but warm in places along the west coast. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong east to south-easterly, but light to moderate north-easterly along the south coast at first.
