Partly cloudy and warm to cool with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers over the central and eastern parts of the country on Tuesday.

From Wednesday it should be partly cloudy and warm to cool conditions, with isolated showers and thundershowers expected over the central interior, as well as along the south coast on Thursday.

Warnings from the SA Weather Service for Tuesday:

A. level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds, excessive lightning and hail which may lead to damage or lOSS of infrastructure, settlements, vehicles and major travel disruptions are expected in the eastern and south-eastern parts of the Free State, north-western parts of KwaZulu-Natal and the eastern parts of the Eastern Cape.

B. level 2 warning for damaging winds over parts of the Northern Cape, North West and the Free State as per the map above.

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected in places over the central and northern parts of South Africa.

GAUTENG
Partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers.
The expected UVB sunburn index: Very High

MPUMALANGA
Morning fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers.

LIMPOPO
Partly cloudy in the south, otherwise fine and warm. It will be hot in places in the north.

NORTH-WEST
Partly cloudy, windy and warm, with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the south-east.

THE FREE STATE
Partly cloudy, windy, and cool to warm, with scattered showers and thundershowers, but isolated in the extreme west.

THE NORTHERN CAPE
Morning fog patches along the coast, otherwise partly cloudy, windy and warm, with isolated showers and thundershowers in the east. It will be fine in the north-west. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh northerly to north-westerly.

THE WESTERN CAPE
Morning fog patches in places, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers over the north-eastern parts in the afternoon. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong easterly to north-easterly along the south coast, otherwise moderate to fresh westerly to north-westerly.

THE WESTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Morning fog patches, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated thundershowers over the northern and eastern parts. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh easterly.

THE EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Cloudy, windy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers, but scattered in the east. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly.

KWAZULU-NATAL
Partly cloudy and warm but cool in the south-west with isolated showers and thundershowers except in the north-east. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh northerly to north-easterly.
