A heat wave with persistently high temperatures are expected over the western parts of Namakwa district, as well as west and south-western parts of the Western Cape from Monday, spreading to the Little Karoo, Central Karoo and western parts of the Garden Route districts from Tuesday until Friday.

Warnings from the SA Weather Service for Monday:

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the Richtersveld, Nama Khoi municipalities of the Northern Cape as well as the Matzikama and Cederberg municipalities of the Western Cape.

GAUTENG
Partly cloudy and cool.

MPUMALANGA
Warm in the Lowveld, otherwise partly cloudy and cool but cloudy in the east with isolated showers and rain.

LIMPOPO
Cloudy and cool with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the northeast. It will be warm in places in the Lowveld and the Limpopo Valley.

NORTH WEST
Partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers in the north-east.

THE FREE STATE
Partly cloudy and cool to warm.

THE NORTHERN CAPE
Fine in the extreme west, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot but very hot in the north-west. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong southerly to south-easterly.

THE WESTERN CAPE
Morning fog in the south, otherwise fine and warm to hot but very hot to extremely hot in places in the west. It will be cool in the south-east. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate easterly to south-easterly along the west coast in the morning, otherwise fresh to strong.

THE WESTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Partly cloudy at first, otherwise fine and warm but cool in places along the coast. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong easterly.

THE EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Cloudy with fog patches in places over interior at first, otherwise partly cloudy and cool. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong north-easterly.

KWAZULU-NATAL
Morning fog over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and rain, but scattered along the north coast. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly north of Durban, otherwise light to moderate easterly to north-easterly.
