A newer forecast is available by clicking here. Partly cloudy conditions are expected over the southern and eastern parts of the country from Friday, with isolated showers and thundershowers. Otherwise, fine and warm to hot, but cool in places in the south. Fine over the western interior from Saturday, otherwise partly cloudy warm to hot with isolated to scattered showers and rain in the east where it will be cool along the escarpment. Warnings from the SA Weather Service for Friday: A. level 1 warning for damaging interior winds in parts of the Northern Cape, North West and Free State as per the map above. Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected across the eastern and western parts of the Northern Cape, southern and eastern parts of North West, in places across Free State, southern areas of Gauteng and Limpopo, Highveld of Mpumalanga as well as northern and western parts of KwaZulu-Natal. Warnings from the SA Weather Service for Saturday: A. level 1 warning for severe thunderstorms in parts of the Free State and KwaZulu-Natal as per the map below. Regional forecasts from the SA Weather Service for Friday: GAUTENG Partly cloudy and warm. The expected UVB sunburn index: High MPUMALANGA Morning fog patches over along the escarpment, otherwise fine and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon. LIMPOPO Fine and warm, but it will be hot in places in the south. It will become partly cloudy in south in the afternoon. NORTH-WEST Fine, windy and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy. THE FREE STATE Fine, windy and cool to warm, becoming partly cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers, except in the north-west. THE NORTHERN CAPE Fine, windy and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy in the south with isolated showers and thundershowers in the south-east. The wind along the coast will be moderate south-westerly, becoming south-easterly from the evening. THE WESTERN CAPE Partly cloudy and cool with light rain over the south-eastern coast from the late afternoon. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-easterly along the south in the morning, otherwise moderate south-westerly.
