Fog patches can be expected in the morning in a number of regions across the country on Friday.

Warnings from the SA Weather Service for Friday:

A. level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms leading to localised flooding of low-lying areas, susceptible roads and bridges as well as localised damage to infrastructure, settlements (informal), property, vehicles, livelihood and livestock over parts of the Northern Cape, the Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, the Free State and North West.

GAUTENG
Partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers.

MPUMALANGA
Morning fog over the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and warm but hot in the Lowveld with isolated showers and thundershowers, but scattered over the escarpment and southern parts.

LIMPOPO
Partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers.

NORTH-WEST
Partly cloudy and warm, with isolated showers and thundershowers, but scattered in the extreme south-west.

THE FREE STATE
Partly cloudy to cloudy and warm, with scattered showers and thundershowers.

THE NORTHERN CAPE
Partly cloudy to cloudy and warm to hot, with scattered to isolated showers and thundershowers but widespread over the central interior.

THE WESTERN CAPE
Fog patches along the west coast by morning, becoming partly cloudy and hot from the afternoon, otherwise cloudy and warm to hot with isolated showers and thundershowers over the eastern interior. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate easterly by morning, becoming moderate to fresh north-westerly to westerly along the south-west and southern parts from the late morning.

THE WESTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Partly cloudy in places, otherwise cloudy and warm to hot with scattered showers and thundershowers, but widespread over the north. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate northwesterly, becoming fresh to strong south-westerly from midmorning.

THE EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Morning fog in places south of the escarpment, otherwise cloudy with scattered showers and thundershowers, but widespread in the north-west. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate northeasterly, reaching fresh to strong in places during the
afternoon.

KWAZULU-NATAL
Morning and evening fog patches over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy to cloudy and warm to hot. Scattered showers and thundershowers are expected but isolated in the north-east. The wind along the coast will be light and variable between Port Shepstone and Richards Bay at first, otherwise light to moderate northerly to north-easterly.
