From Tuesday isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers are expected, but widespread in the south-eastern parts. Warnings from the SA Weather Service for Monday: A. yellow level 2 warning severe thunderstorms in parts of the Northern Cape, Western Cape, Eastern Cape and the Free State as per the map above. Extreme high fire danger conditions expected over the central part of the Northern Cape and Beaufort West local municipality in the Western Cape. Regional forecasts from SAWS for Monday: 1. GAUTENG Partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers. The expected UVB sunburn index: High 2. MPUMALANGA Morning fog patches along the Escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers in the south-west in the afternoon. It will become hot in places in the Lowveld. 3. LIMPOPO Partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated showers and thundershowers in the south-western Bushveld in the afternoon. 4. NORTH-WEST PROVINCE Partly cloudy and warm, with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers except in the west. 5. FREE STATE Partly cloudy and warm, with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers. 6. NORTHERN CAPE Morning foggy conditions along the coats and adjacent interior, otherwise partly cloudy, windy and cool to warm with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers over the central and eastern parts. Wind along the coast will be light and variable, becoming moderate westerly to south-westerly by the afternoon. 7. WESTERN CAPE Morning foggy conditions in the western parts, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers in the eastern parts from the afternoon, but light drizzle along the south-western parts by the afternoon. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh easterly to north-easterly along the south coast, becoming westerly in the afternoon, otherwise moderate to fresh north-westerly. The expected UVB sunburn index: High 8. WESTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE Morning fog patches in places, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot, becoming cloudy with scattered showers and thundershowers. The wind along the coast will be Moderate to fresh easterly, becoming south-easterly, west of Port Alfred in the evening 9. EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE Morning fog patches in places, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot, becoming cloudy with scattered showers and thundershowers, but isolated along the Wild Coast and adjacent interior. The wind along the coast will be Moderate to fresh north-easterly, reaching strong in places from late afternoon. 10. KWAZULU-NATAL Morning fog patches over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy to cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers except in the extreme north-eastern parts. The wind along the coast will be light and variable in the south in the morning, otherwise moderate to fresh northerly to north-easterly.
