Partly cloudy and cold to cool, with isolated showers and thundershowers over the central and eastern parts of the country on Thursday, according to the SA Weather Service.

From Friday it should be partly cloudy and very cold to cold but cool to warm in places, with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers.

1. GAUTENG
Partly cloudy and cool with isolated showers and thundershowers.

2. MPUMALANGA
Morning fog patches in the south east, otherwise partly cloudy and cold to cool with isolated showers and thundershowers, except in the Lowveld where it will be warm.

3. LIMPOPO
Partly cloudy and cool, but warm in the Lowveld, with isolated showers in the south.

4. NORTH-WEST
Partly cloudy and cold to cool, with isolated showers and thundershowers. It will be windy in the extreme west.

5. FREE STATE
Windy in the extreme west, otherwise partly cloudy and cold to cool, with isolated showers and thundershowers. Light snow can be expected along the Lesotho border.

6. NORTHERN CAPE
Cloudy with morning fog along the coast and adjacent interior, otherwise fine and cool to cold, but partly cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers in the east. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate southerly.

7. WESTERN CAPE
Morning fog patches are expected over the western interior and along the south coast. It will be partly cloudy and cool, but cold in the south-west, with isolated afternoon thunderstorms in the extreme north-east. Light rain is expected over the extreme south-western parts from late morning, spreading along the south coast during the day. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh westerly to south-westerly, but southerly along the west coast.

8. WESTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Cloudy with fog in places over interior at first, otherwise fine and cool, becoming partly cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers. The wind along the coast will be light north-westerly at first, otherwise moderate to fresh south-westerly.

9. EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Cloudy with fog in places south of the escapement at first, otherwise fine and cool, but cold in places in the north, becoming partly cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers. The wind along the coast will be light north-westerly, becoming moderate south-westerly in the afternoon.

10. KWAZULU-NATAL
Morning fog in places over the interior, otherwise fine and cool. It will become partly cloudy in the afternoon with isolated showers and thundershowers in the west. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-westerly at first, otherwise moderate to fresh northerly to north-easterly.
