Morning fog can be expected in places towards the eastern side of the country.

Warnings from the SA Weather Service for Saturday:

A. level 4 warning for severe thunderstorms with heavy downpours leading to flooding of low-lying areas, susceptible roads and bridges as well as large amounts of small hail and strong damaging winds leading damage of infrastructure, settlements, vehicles and livestock over the eastern part of Mpumalanga.

B. level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms with heavy downpours leading to localised flooding of low-lying areas, susceptible roads and bridges as well as large amounts of small hail and strong damaging winds leading localised damage of infrastructure, settlements, vehicles and livestock over Gauteng and parts of Mpumalanga, Limpopo, North West, the Northern Cape, the Free State and KwaZulu-Natal.

GAUTENG
Cloudy and warm but cool in places with scattered showers and thundershowers.

MPUMALANGA
Morning fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise cloudy and cool to warm with scattered showers and thundershowers.

LIMPOPO
Morning fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise cloudy and warm but hot in the Lowveld with scattered showers and thundershowers.

NORTH-WEST
Partly cloudy and warm, with scattered showers and thundershowers, but isolated over the western parts.

THE FREE STATE
Morning fog patches over the extreme eastern parts, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm, with scattered showers and thundershowers.

THE NORTHERN CAPE
Fine to partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers in the east. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong south-easterly to southerly.

THE WESTERN CAPE
Cloudy to partly cloudy and cool to warm but hot over the northern parts of the West Coast district, becoming fine from the west from the morning spreading to east from the afternoon. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-easterly to easterly becoming strong from the evening but light along the south coast until the afternoon.

THE WESTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Partly cloudy in the west at first, otherwise cloudy and cool with isolated thundershowers in the north-east, and isolated showers and rain in the south-east in the afternoon. The wind along the coast will be Light to moderate westerly, becoming moderate to fresh easterly in the afternoon.

THE EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Cloudy and cool with scattered showers and thundershowers but isolated in the west. The wind along the coast will be Light to moderate south-westerly, becoming south-easterly in the afternoon but north-easterly in the evening.

KWAZULU-NATAL
Morning fog over the interior, otherwise cloudy and cool to warm with scattered showers and thundershowers, but widespread over the extreme north-eastern parts. The wind along the coast will be moderate northerly to north-easterly north of Cape St Lucia at first, otherwise fresh to strong southerly to south-westerly, becoming light to moderate south-easterly to easterly south of Durban from late afternoon.
