TUESDAY WEATHER: Less severe disruptive rainfall in the north-east but six provinces have warnings issued for them

From Tuesday it should be partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers possible, mainly over the eastern and central regions, while other areas remain mostly dry.
Very hot and uncomfortable conditions are expected over the western parts of Namakwa Municipal District in the Northern Cape as well as the West Coast, and south-western parts of Cape Winelands Municipal District in the Western Cape on Tuesday.
Warnings from the SA Weather Service for Tuesday:
A. level 4 warning for disruptive rainfall with heavy downpours leading to flooding of susceptible roads, settlements, low-lying bridges/areas and risk of life over the northern parts of Limpopo.
B. level 2 warning for disruptive rainfall with heavy downpours leading to localised flooding of susceptible roads, settlements, low-lying bridges/areas, major roads affected but can be used, increased travel times over the eastern and western parts of Limpopo, and along the Escarpment and Lowveld in Mpumalanga.
B. level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms leading to localised flooding of susceptible roads, low-lying areas and bridges, large amounts of small hail, and localised damage to infrastructure due to damaging winds over the centraland eastern parts of North West, central parts of Free State, south-western parts of Gauteng as well as the extreme south-western parts of Limpopo.
C. level 1 warning for damaging coastal winds resulting in difficulty in navigation at sea is expected between Cape Columbine and Cape Agulhas.
Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over Kai! garib Local District in the Northern Cape as well as the West Coast and in places over the City of Cape Town Local District in the Western Cape.

MPUMALANGA
Morning fog patches over the escarpment and over the Highveld, otherwise cloudy and cold to cool, with isolated showers and thundershowers.
LIMPOPO
Cloudy and cool with scattered showers and thundershowers but isolated in the south-east.
NORTH-WEST
Partly cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers but isolated in the west.
THE FREE STATE
Morning fog patches in the east, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot with scattered showers and thundershowers in the central, otherwise isolated.
THE NORTHERN CAPE
Partly cloudy in the east with isolated showers and thundershowers, otherwise fine and hot to very hot but warm over the north-western parts. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong southerly to south-easterly.
THE WESTERN CAPE
Fine and hot to very hot but cool to warm in the south. It will become partly cloudy with light rain along the south coast in the evening. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly, becoming strong to near gale force along the south-west coast in the afternoon.
THE WESTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated thunderstorms in the north. It will be fine in the south-west. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-easterly to easterly.
THE EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Cloudy at first, otherwise partly cloudy and cool with isolated thundershowers but scattered over the north-east. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly, becoming easterly in evening.
KWAZULU-NATAL
Morning fog over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy to cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers. The wind along the coast will be fresh southerly to south-westerly.
