Very hot to extremely hot conditions can be expected in the Western Cape and the Namakwa District of the Northern Cape on Monday.

Heat wave conditions with persistently high temperatures are expected in places over the western parts of the Northern Cape and the western parts of the Western Cape extending into the interior parts of the Eastern Cape.

Morning or evening fog can be expected in many parts of the country on Monday.

MPUMALANGA
Morning fog patches along the escarpment and eastern Highveld, otherwise cloudy and cool to warm with scattered showers and thundershowers, but isolated in the Lowveld.

LIMPOPO
Morning fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise cloudy and cool to warm with scattered showers and thundershowers.

NORTH-WEST
Morning fog in places, otherwise cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the east.

THE FREE STATE
Cloudy in the north, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers, but scattered in the east where morning fog patches are expected.

THE NORTHERN CAPE
Morning and evening fog patches along the coast, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot, with isolated showers and thundershowers, except in the north west and along the coast. It will be hot to very hot in the west, but extremely hot in places in the west. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-westerly.

THE WESTERN CAPE
Morning fog patches in the south, otherwise partly cloudy and very hot to extremely hot but hot in places in the south and south-west. Isolated showers and thundershowers are expected over the eastern half of the province in the afternoon The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-westerly along the west coast, but fresh to strong south-easterly reaching very strong along the south-western coastline. Moderate to fresh south-westerly along the south coast becoming fresh to strong easterly in the evening.

THE WESTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Cloudy with morning fog patches in the south, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated showers and rain in places along the coast. It will become cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers over the interior in the afternoon. The wind along the coast will be light and variable at first, becoming moderate south-westerly.

THE EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Cloudy with morning fog patches in the south, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated showers and thundershowers. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly, becoming south-westerly in the evening.

KWAZULU-NATAL
Morning fog in places over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated showers and thundershowers except between Port Edward and Cape St. Lucia and adjacent interior. The wind along the coast will be light easterly in the extreme north, otherwise light to moderate northerly to north-easterly, reaching fresh in places in the afternoon.
