From Wednesday it should be partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers.

Hot and humid weather can be expected over the north-eastern parts of KwaZulu-Natal.

Warnings from the SA Weather Service for Wednesday:

A. level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms with heavy downpours, lightning, hail, and damaging winds resulting in localised flooding and damage to settlements and infrastructure are expected over North West, Free State, north-eastern of Northern Cape as well as the north-eastern and extreme western parts of KwaZulu-Natal.

B. level 1 warning for damaing waves with heights between 4m and 5m as well as south-westerly winds between 30km/h and 35km/h leading to difficulty in navigation between Saldanha Bay and Cape Agulhas as per the map above.

GAUTENG
Cloudy and cool with scattered showers and thundershowers.

MPUMALANGA
Partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the Highveld where it will be cloudy. It will be hot in places in the Lowveld.

LIMPOPO
Cloudy in the south-western Bushveld, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers, except in the northern parts.

NORTH-WEST
Cloudy and cool to warm with scattered showers and thundershowers.

THE FREE STATE
Cloudy and cool with scattered showers and thundershowers.

THE NORTHERN CAPE
Cloudy over the central and extreme western parts with morning fog along the coast, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers in the east, but scattered in the extreme north-east. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate south-westerly to westerly, becoming north-westerly.

THE WESTERN CAPE
Cloudy and cool with morning isolated showers and rain in the southern and western parts, but scattered in the extreme south-western parts. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to southwesterly, but strong along the south and south-west coasts in the morning.

THE WESTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Cloudy in the south with light rain in the extreme south-west, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated thundershowers in the north. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly.

THE EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thunder-showers but scattered in the extreme east. The wind along the coast will be moderate north-westerly in the east at first, otherwise moderate to fresh south-westerly, reaching strong in places in the west in the afternoon.

KWAZULU-NATAL
Partly cloudy and warm to hot, becoming cloudy in the evening with scattered showers and thundershowers. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh northerly to northeasterly in the north, otherwise light to moderate north-westerly but moderate to fresh southerly to south-westerly south of Cape St Lucia in the afternoon.
