FRIDAY WEATHER: A LEVEL 4 warning for disruptive rainfall but still very hot in the west

Heat wave conditions with persistently high temperatures are expected over the western parts of Namakwa district, as well as the west, south-west and northern parts of the Western Cape, and over Koukamma municipality of the Eastern Cape but in places over Sarah Baartman, Chris Hani, Alfred Nzo, OR Tambo, Amathole, Nelson Mandela Bay and Buffalo City until Monday.
Morning fog can be expected in a number of areas around the country on Friday.
Warnings from the SA Weather Service for Friday:
A. level 4 warning for disruptive rain leading to localised flooding, of susceptible roads, settlements, and low-lying areas/bridges is expected over the lowveld of Mpumalanga and Limpopo.
Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over Kamiesberg municipality of the Northern Cape, as well as Matzikama, Cederberg, Bergrivier and Drakenstein municipalities of the Western Cape.

GAUTENG
Cloudy and cool with scattered showers and thundershowers. It will be warm in the extreme north.
MPUMALANGA
Morning fog patches along the eascarpment, otherwise cloudy and cool to warm with scattered to widespread showers and thundershowers.
LIMPOPO
Morning fog patches in the south, otherwise cloudy and cool to warm with scattered to widespread showers and thundershowers.
NORTH WEST
Partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers but scattered in the extreme east.
THE FREE STATE
Partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers, except in the south.
THE NORTHERN CAPE
Partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated showers and thundershowers in the north-eastern. It will be fine in the central parts. The wind along the coast will be light south-easterly.
THE WESTERN CAPE
Morning fog along the west and south coast, otherwise partly cloudy and hot to very hot but extremely hot over the West Coast District and Oudtshoorn. It will be fine in the extreme east. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate southerly to south-easterly.
THE WESTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Fine and hot to very hot, but extremely hot in places over the interior. It will be warm in places along the coast with moderate to fresh north-easterly wind.
THE EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Morning fog patches in places south of escarpment, otherwise fine and warm to hot. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly.
KWAZULU-NATAL
Morning fog over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and rain in the north where it will be cloudy. The wind along the coast will be light south-easterly north of Cape Vidal until late afternoon, otherwise moderate to fresh easterly to north-easterly.
