Warnings from the SA Weather Service for Friday:

A. level 4 warning for severe thunderstorms with heavy downpours, strong damaging winds, large amounts of small hail and excessive lightning, leading to damage to infrastructure, settlements (informal), property, vehicles, livelihood and livestock, as well as localised flooding of susceptible roads, low-lying areas and bridges over KwaZulu-Natal, except in the north-east.

B. level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms heavy downpours, strong damaging winds, large amounts of small hail and excessive lightning, leading to localised damage to infrastructure, settlements (informal), property, vehicles, livelihood and livestock, as well as localised flooding of susceptible roads, low-lying areas and bridges over the extreme eastern parts of the Northern Cape, the North West, Free State, Central and Northern parts of the Eastern Cape as well as the Mpumalanga Highveld, Southern parts of Limpopo and Gauteng.

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over in places over the ZF Mgcawu and Pixley Ka Seme District Municipalities.

GAUTENG
Partly cloudy and warm with afternoon scattered showers and thundershowers.

MPUMALANGA
Partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers, except in the extreme north-east. it will be hot to very hot in the Lowveld.

LIMPOPO
Morning drizzle along the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and hot to very hot with isolated showers and thundershowers in the south. It Will be warm over the central parts.

NORTH-WEST
Partly cloudy to cloudy and warm, with scattered showers and thundershowers.

THE FREE STATE
Morning fog patches in the east and central parts at first, otherwise partly cloudy to cloudy and cool to warm, with scattered showers and thundershowers.

THE NORTHERN CAPE
Morning fog patches in the far east, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot, with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers in the central and eastern parts. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southeasterly.

THE WESTERN CAPE
Partly cloudy and warm in the west, otherwise cloudy and cool with isolated showers and thundershowers over the eastern interior but scattered along the south coast. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southeasterly but strong along the south-west coast becoming moderate southerly to south-west along the south coast from the afternoon.

THE WESTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Cloudy and cool to warm with scattered showers and thundershowers, but isolated in the Willowmore and Jansenville area. The wind along the coast will be light easterly, becoming moderate to fresh south-westerly in the afternoon.

THE EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Cloudy and cool to warm with scattered showers and thundershowers, but widespread south of the eastern escarpment. The wind along the coast will be light northerly at first, otherwise moderate easterly, becoming moderate to fresh south-westerly in the evening.

KWAZULU-NATAL
Morning fog over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy and warm but hot in places in the north-east. scattered showers and thundershowers. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh northeasterly becoming strong in places by afternoon.
