WEDNESDAY WEATHER: Rain in the interior, south and east coast and a thunderstorm warning for four provinces

Partly cloudy and warm to hot, but cloudy along the south coast with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers possible over the central and eastern parts of the country on Wednesday.
Hot and humid weather can be expected over the eastern parts of KwaZulu-Natal.
Morning or evening fog can be expected in quite a number of regions.
From Thursday it should be partly cloudy and warm and hot to very hot in places, with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers.
Warnings from the SA Weather Service for Wednesday:
A. level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms with heavy downpours, strong damaging winds, large amounts of small hail and excessive lightning, leading to localised damage to infrastructure, settlements (informal), property, vehicles, livelihood and livestock, as well as localised flooding of susceptible roads, low-lying areas and bridges over southern parts of Free State and KwaZulu-Natal, as well as the south-eastern parts of the Northern Cape and parts of the Eastern Cape as per the map.
Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the Kai Garib, Kheis, Dawid Kruiper, Dikgatlong, and Phokanelocal municipalities of the Northern Cape.

GAUTENG
Partly cloudy and warm, but hot in the extreme north.
MPUMALANGA
Cloudy in the east in the morning with fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and warm but hot in places in the Lowveld.
LIMPOPO
Cloudy in the east in the morning with fog patches along the southern escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated showers in places in the north-east.
NORTH WEST
Partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated showers and thundershowers over the central and the western parts.
THE FREE STATE
Morning fog patches in the extreme east, otherwise partly cloudy to cloudy and cool to warm with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers, except in the extreme north-east.
THE NORTHERN CAPE
Morning fog along the coast, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers in the east. It will be fine in places in the west. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-easterly.
THE WESTERN CAPE
Morning fog in the west, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers in the south and east. It will be cloudy in the south. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong south-westerly, but moderate north-easterly along the south-west coast.
THE WESTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers, but scattered in the south. It will be cloudy along the coast. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate south-westerly.
THE EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-easterly.
KWAZULU-NATAL
Morning and evening fog patches over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot but very hot in places in the north-east. Scattered showers and thundershowers are expected in the south, otherwise isolated except in the north. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong northerly to north-easterly.
