Snowvember! Late season snow falls in South Africa as per our forecast

Snow fell on the Western Cape Peaks around Somerset West, Stellenbosch, Paarl, Wellington, Worcester, Robertson, Ceres and De Doorns on Monday 4 October.

Snow fell in the Eastern Cape on the Lootsberg pass (N9) around Graaff-Reinet and the Sneeuberge on Tuesday 5 October. The pass was closed for a while but was reopened in the afternoon.

Snow in November is not unusual, and we saw snow at this time in 2023 and 2021.

The SA Weather Service has issued a disruptive snowfall warning for late on Monday and into Tuesday.
