Disruptive snowfall on the way this weekend and Namibia on the radar too24 July 2023 [updated 29 July]By Staff Writer
More snowfall is incoming across parts of South Africa and Lesotho from late on Friday 28 July and into the early hours of Monday. The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued quite a number of warnings about disruptive snowfall on Saturday and Sunday. Details are included below each regional map further down the page. The map indicates where SnowReportSA is seeing the possibility of snow, but it may not fall in all of the areas shown on the map. As with any forecast of any kind (temperature, clouds, rain, wind), what eventually happens may or may not be similar to the forecast. Breede Valley/Worcester, Witzenberg/Ceres, Karoo Hoogland/Sutherland, Oudtshoorn, Prince Albert, Laingsburg, Beaufort West on Saturday and Sunday. Large accumulations of snow in high-lying areas may result in icy and difficult driving conditions on mountain passes. Some communities may be temporarily inaccessible. The Free State is on the radar again this weekend with light snow possible for places like Zastron, Thaba Nchu, Fouriesburg, Clarens, Bethlehem and the Golden Gate National Park, as well as a slight possibility for parts of the SOUTH western part of the province. Light to heavy snow is possible for Lesotho, including in Maseru.

Some light snowfall is still looking possible for Namibia on Saturday in the regions of Spitzkop, Aus and further north as per the map.
