Following up from our advanced forecast yesterday, we’re still seeing possible snow across parts of the Northern and Eastern Cape, but the data is inconsistent so we have to warn that some of the snowfalls may not materialise.
We do however expect some light snow to fall on the Hex River mountains and possibly in the Cederberg tonight, as well as on the Swartberg Mountains in the Western Cape. Some snow is possible on the mountains near Beaufort West, and there is a chance of snow around the high-lying area around Sutherland in the Northern Cape. By tomorrow morning we are likely to see snow on the peaks north of Hogsback, as well as possible snow from Molteno to the south-western corner of Lesotho as per our map. From Wednesday we may see snow in the eastern part of Lesotho and on the high-peaks of the Drakensberg. Please note that most snowfalls are expected to be very light and some may not even settle at all, but it will be very cold in the areas that have a chance of seeing snow.
