UPDATED FORECAST: A second round of low-level snow is arriving tomorrow12 July 2020By Richard Le Sueur
The data currently indicates that low-level snow that is accessible by vehicle is possible in some of these areas. At this point the snow will be fairly light in most areas, except for the south-western Cape where upwards of 20cm is currently indicated for some of the high-peaks. Since much of the snow on the high-peaks of the Western Cape has not melted yet, this second snowfall means that some areas will end up with a notably thick layer of snow. The map indicates where SnowReportSA is currently seeing the possibility of snow, but it may not fall in all of the areas shown on the map. The snow may either fall in the town itself, but in most cases will be on the high-ground nearby or the nearby peaks, and therefore visible from these places. The freezing level could drop as low as 1250m in places.
