Level 10 warnings for veld fire conditions continue on Saturday

Some afternoon rain possible in the west, according to the South African Weather Service (SAWS). From Sunday more coastal rain is possible.

Upcoming warnings from SAWS:

A. yellow level 2 warning for damaging wind and waves leading to difficulty in navigation at sea is expected between Alexander Bay and Plettenberg Bay.

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected in places over the eastern and central parts of the Northern Cape, Sarah Baartman, Chris Hani, Alfred Nzo and Amathole District Municipalitites and Elundini Local Municipality in the Eastern Cape as well as Mkhondo Local Municipality in Mpumalanga.

Fine and warm to hot.

THE NORTH-WEST PROVINCE
Fine and warm.

Windy over the southern parts, otherwise fine and cool to warm.

THE NORTHERN CAPE
Partly cloudy and cold in the west, otherwise fine and cool to warm but windy over the southern interior. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north- westerly.

THE WESTERN CAPE
Partly cloudy and cool to warm in the east, otherwise cloudy, cold to cool and windy with rain and showers setting in from late afternoon. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong north-westerly to westerly reaching gale force in the south west moderating in the evening. The expected UVB sunburn index: Low

THE WESTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Fine, windy and warm, but cool in places in the north. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-westerly.

THE EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Fine, windy and warm, but cool in places in the north. The wind along the coast will be light north-westerly, becoming moderate north-easterly in the afternoon.

KWAZULU-NATAL
Morning fog over the interior, otherwise fine and cool to warm. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly. The expected UVB sunburn index: Very High
