Snowfall is possible for the high peaks in the Western Cape and the high ground in the Eastern Cape, as well as Lesotho from late on Sunday and into Tuesday.

No low-level snow is currently indicated for the Western Cape. Because the snowfall is mostly at higher elevations, small pockets of snow in excess of 10cm are possible but may also melt before the end of the storm.

Areas where snow may fall on the peaks or the high-ground include the Hex River mountains, the higheat parts of the Swartberg range, the high-peaks around Graaff-Reinet, the high-ground around Rhodes and Barkly East, and various parts of Lesotho.

The map indicates where SnowReportSA is seeing the possibility of snow, but it may not fall in all of the areas shown on the map. As with any forecast of any kind (temperature, clouds, rain, wind), what eventually happens may or may not be similar to the forecast.
