Snow on the way for the Eastern Cape, Lesotho and the Drakensberg this weekend22 April 2021 [updated 29 April]By Staff Writer
This is an increase in the quantity of snow from the last forecast, and the forecast freezing level has now dropped. The snow is expected to fall starting falling late on Thursday and continue through Friday and Saturday. While low-level snow is not expected in South Africa, snow may be reachable by vehicle on the highest mountain passes in Lesotho and the Eastern Cape. The Eastern Cape high-ground around the town of Rhodes and Tiffindell Ski Resort should get around 15cm of snow. AfriSki in Lesotho should also get snow. The map indicates where SnowReportSA is currently seeing the possibility of snow, but it may not fall in all of the areas shown on the map.
