I remember as a child being snowed in in Newcaste. My uncle worked at the coal mines, we couldn't get into town. Loved it.

I never get tired of reading the history starting in the 1800's - it is really interesting to see how much snow has fallen in SA over the years. xoxox

And here is another one I took that day, this time in the Mnweni.

This is a great read!

Love this, so interesting,

Snow Report SA, here is a pic I took on July 27th 2016 - of Cleft Peak.

Wow is the drone filming in high definition

No footage of the pass....Think there should be footage of the aerial windy shapes of the pass in a few shots - leading up to the top - otherwise good

What radius can the drone cover from remote I notice you didn't go out to the edge of the cloud and then back in

Still on the bucket list.

Beautiful, now we just need it to start snowing. โ„๏ธ

Oh so Wow Breath taking๐Ÿ˜

Awesome scary experience driving up the windy pass! Did a Lesotho expedition, amazing experience. Katse dam, maletsunyane and Sani pass. In just an hour the weather changed from hot to snowing at the top of the pass on the 12 Jan 2018.

It might not be South Africa, but it is still Africa! Snow in the Sahara Desert on Sunday. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5246347/amp/Snow-Sahara-desert-time-40-years.html?__twitter_impr...

Snow covers parts of the SAHARA DESERT for third time in 40 years
This is the third time in 37 years that the town of Ain Sefra in Algeria has seen snow cover the red sand dunes of the Sahara desert, with up to 16 inches falling in some areas.

People don't seem to understand that the intercontinental climatic zones have shifted as they do every couple of hundred or so years, that with an axis shift, has changed, what humans consider normal weather, for their area to what they are now calling "abnormal" yet all the evidence is there if you actually look, well documented. No I am not saying humans have/are not having an impact in weather, but if one looks at world weather from the very long view you will be able to identify that historically a:the planet has been warming up for hundred of thousands of years, if not millions, b: shifting climatic zone are real and have been proved c: some people have made one hellva lot of money with the "climate change hype"

I heard this was fake news.

SCARY global cooling?

I honestly didn't know that a desert snows. Wow

It's a high altitude village. Snow falls in the Atlas mountains every Jan/Feb ... Which is why there are three major ski resorts in Morocco alone.

Well it seems to be more common for snow to fall in the Sahara than it does in Durban!?

Mandy Martin we have all 4 seasons in this country

whilst we were baking in Johannesburg.โ˜บ

Lovely but surely not a good sign for climate change !!!!

Water for the desert .....thats also great !!! We snow in Cape Town !!!

Philippa Rose-Tite and they say global warming is myth ๐Ÿคฏ

It does seem amazing, but the weather has been abnormal.

Beverley Woods have you also had snow again?

Wow! Scary weather changes world wide.

Just like how vast swathes of South Africa saw snow in November 2017.

Chase Wells, this is obviously where we are meant to be skiing ๐Ÿ˜‰

Cool

There they are not geared for snow. It's very hard for them!

Heather Willis look what you've done again because you went camping๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Kan ons nie daai sneeu gaan haal en in die theewaterskloofdam gooi nie...

So much for global warming!!!!

Cool wish it would snow in PMB

Fascinating and quite beautiful.

Wow didnโ€™t know that !

Amazingly beautiful

We happy S.A citizens of society here! Following your page with love under warm Beautiful S.A skies ....... and then you have to spoil the spirit by reminding us of winter ...... BIG NO ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Please!!!! I cannot wait for winter to arrive in Cape Town

Here at the opposite side of globe sunrise at 9.42 and sunset 15.02 ๐Ÿ˜€ That's much better than at the most Northern part of our country. There the next sunrise will be January 16th ๐Ÿ˜€

It's 3:40pm here in London and I am already turning on lights! It's getting gloomy. Hate winter in the Northern hemisphere

Few signs of summer in Durban. It's only popped up here and there, otherwise mostly cool and rainy

And that means, today is the first day of summer

Everyone in the Western Cape is already looking forward to next winter. Hope it arrives early and brings loads of rain!

Mid winter here in Finland. Thus it is the shortest day, but we won't see the sun rise or set today as it is cloudy. Sunrise 10:29 and sunset 14:04 in Oulu. 3.5 hours of sunlight. With beautiful snow #whiteChristmas

Whoo hoo! Love winter. So not a summer person.

Yippeeee winter is on its way back!!!

So what happens from now on?

Lol. Winter cannot come fast enough. We are melting!

this means the days are now getting shorter and we're heading toward winter.

Thanks for the depressing news. Not needed today!!!

That is the day I wait for every year. Yipeeeee winter is on the way but still have to get thru the next couple of months. But today is the day. Roll on winter

Haven't had summer in Hillcrest...been lucky if we have had a week of sunshine ๐Ÿคฃ

Bring on that winter, it's the best season ever

With the strange weather we are having never quite sure if it's summer or winter

Yay so here in Staffordshire, UK its our longest night - from tomorrow the days get longer!

Happiest day for me here up in the True North, from tomorrow the days get longer. (Mind you we still have to get through another few months of snow, and minus temps) then comes Summer, yippee

Winter is coming you say! We must first get through Durban's hot and humid February before we can hope for those perfect cool winter days here on the KZร‘ coast

Summer hasn't even arrived properly yet.. altho cape town needs winter more

Have been turning the lamps on at 4:30 for awhile..looking forward to longer days and shorter nights. Downright depressing.

Horay, winter is oppad, dis aaklig om so warm te wees al kry ons so baie storms in Gauteng. Dit is net voor 7 en my termostaat ini huis vwys al klaar 27 grade.

It sure donโ€™t feel like we had summer, but CT needs the winter rain, hope those rains come early for them๐Ÿ™

On the peaks it would be snow.

We are at fairways. Were halfway up Rhino peak at pillar cave when hail started.

It was big and brutal, here in Maseru. Can't imagine anyone mistaking it for snow!

Where in the berg

We saw hail on the ground and snow on the mountains

We were at Notties and could see a storm in the Berg and it looked vicious, so headed back to Howick fast!

Alison Chadwick I'm sure you are happy we weren't on the Giants Cup Trail this week!

Hail is just hard snow !!!!
