Welcome to 2017 SnowReporters!

Welcome to a brand-new year with SnowReport SA. We hope you enjoyed the summer season and now are gearing up for the fantastic winter weather to arrive. The SnowReport Team has been working hard to prepare for 2017. We have updated our website as well as our popular ‘History of Snow’ which now includes snowfall records for 2016.

Not only that, we have already trekked up the pass to Sani Mountain Lodge to install the latest snow camera to catch all the action as it happens this year. A big thank you to Glyn Rose-Christie for sponsoring this camera as well as Sani Mountain Lodge for hosting us and our equipment. We would also like to extend our gratitude to Mohale Lodge and Katse Lodge for sponsoring the travel expenses. You can see the live feed on our snow camera page here: Snow Camera’s

We have an exciting new offering this year – Whatsapp alerts. Would you like to be notified of snow falls on the move without having to go and check? We can bring you the snow news right to your phone, simply subscribe to our Whatsapp alert service, we will add you to the system within 24 hours and then you can receive the latest updates as and where they happen. Our online community has grown considerably over the past year, with more than 170 000 Facebook followers (with 50% growth year on year). 90% of our followers are from South Africa but we are privileged to have avid fans from all around the world.

We strive to make Snow Report better each day, if you would like to help keep SnowReport growing and support our work, why not become a Snow Angel? Simply make a small contribution to the cause and ensure that we keep bringing the best snow news when and where it happens. Or perhaps you would team up with SnowReport SA and become one of our Sponsors. We are the largest online weather community in Africa, we also have an extensive Facebook, Instagram and Twitter following, as well as a high traffic website that draws a large local and international audience. Please feel free to contact us for further information and statistics.

Here is hoping that 2017 is snow-filled and lots of fun because – Snow News Is Good News!
