The frontal system is already impacting the western parts of the western cape, but we have seen a southerly shift of the system over the last 24 hours which is going to have an impact on snow depths and areas. The updated forecast is as follows :
Western Cape mountain peaks will receive some snow today and this evening. Although large parts of the Eastern Cape should experience some rain, we are not seeing snow for many of these areas. We do however expect a significant amount of snow for the Eastern Cape Drakensberg, Lesotho and the KZN Drakensberg starting Friday night into Saturday. A few flurries of snow might also be likely over parts of KZN such as Underberg, Impendle and Matatiele this Saturday. Sunday we can expect a little more snow over some Eastern Lesotho mountains but all snowfall should cease Sunday evening.
