Snow Forecast: Western Cape, 25-26 September 2017

Good morning Snow Reporters! We have spotted a cold front making landfall in the Western Cape early next week. This cold front should bring some much needed rain but also a little snowfall on Monday, the 25th of September, beginning in the afternoon and likely extending into the early hours of Tuesday morning, and possibly even into Tuesday afternoon in the Western parts.

The snow falls will be confined to the high peaks of Western Cape Mountain ranges with some mountains in the Ceres and Worcester area possibly receiving up to 10cm of snow. A few isolated snow flurries may be spotted in parts of the Northern Cape but nothing widespread expected. Should anything develop further we will be sure to let you, our community, know. The freezing level looks like it will drop to 1500 meters over much of the Western Cape on Monday night, so expect a cold start to next week. Stay warm and be safe.
