Afternoon SnowReporters, would you believe we have a little more snow on the way across South Africa? It’s true! Starting on Friday morning we should see a few flurries over some Western Cape mountains and moving over onto parts of the Outeniquas and Swarteberg. At the same time, some parts of the Eastern Cape could see a few flurries, including the high lying regions of Graaf Reinet, Hogsback and Somerset East.
Later in the evening into the early hours of the morning the cold front should move further East, bringing some more snow flurries to Eastern Cape regions such as Barkly East, Dordrecht, Rhodes, and Maclear. We could likely see a nice amount of snow over the KZN/Lesotho Drakensberg, specifically in the Sani Pass area starting early hours of Saturday morning and possibly throughout the day and evening.
There does seem to be a likelihood of a little snow in the KZN midlands area including, Impendle, Rosetta and Underberg – however should the cold front shift just 50km out to sea, this will reduce the chances substantially of snowfall over KZN. We will keep updating as we receive additional information. Stay warm and stay safe SnowReporters!
