We are starting to see some consistency in the next cold front that is approaching the WC, due to make landfall late on Thursday night or early on Friday morning. Whilst there is still a lot of time between now and then, and things might change, this is what we are seeing at the moment….. widespread snow on all mountain ranges from the Cederberg right down to Franschhoek by Friday at sunrise (WC). Update : 8am : Dani Nieckau : Too far for clear photo, but light dusting of snow on the mountain above Suurbraak, Western Cape Update : 8.05am : Snow confirmed at Matroosberg Reserve Indications are that light snow has fallen on the high mountain ranges around Ceres overnight. We didn’t manage to get updated maps out today, so here is a quick summary of what we see on the way : Tonight (Friday 22nd) : Light snow possible on the WC ranges (within 200km of the coast) Saturday 23rd : Light snow possible again on the WC ranges (within 200km of the coast) in the morning. Indications are that light snow has fallen on the extreme high peaks of the WC overnight, but we have no visual confirmations as yet. The Rhodes area of the EC could get some flurries this afternoon and into the evening, and the Sani Pass area of the Southern KZN Drakensberg could get some flurries tonight too.
