It looks like the Western Cape will catch the tail of a cold front during Thursday afternoon. Light snow is possible over the high peaks on Thursday night and into Friday morning in the areas indicated on the map. Less than 5cm seems possible at this stage. By lunch time on Friday, all snowfalls should cease. The front will be passing the Cape to the south, and it is just the tail that the WC is expected to get at this stage. If the front shifts north over the next couple of days, we can expect heavier snow, and if the path shifts south, we will expect less or even no snow. We will update the forecast if we see any northerly or southerly movement of the front.
There’s ‘snow’ reason to be feeling cold this winter. Fight the chill with some fluffy blankets, a crackling fire and some spicy, ready-made Original Glühwein that is sure to warm things up. Available at all leading liquor stores.
